The arrival hall of the Murtala Mohammed International Airport was almost turned to a movie scene over the dramatic incident that unfolded at the MMIA in Lagos on Saturday after an angry woman destroyed her husband’s international passport shortly after their arrival from abroad.
Her act has since been criticized by many as it’s regarded to be vandalizing government’s property and the general public is calling for legal action.
The woman was captured in a viral video telling her husband “If you want to sleep there, sleep there, this is Nigeria, this is where you will be”. She took away her kids and walked out of her husband.
When asked why she tore the passport, she responded angrily “Is it your passport?”
Officials who consoled her husband said it’s a good thing he ignored her.
The woman’s action of destroying a document owned by the Nigerian government has been condemned since then.
