Frontline security expert and former Lagos state gubernatorial candidate Dr. Oluwasegun Alade Musa who embarked on a nationwide free professional training for both government and non-government agencies with a focus to re-engineer the transport system in Nigeria and improve the performance of uniform men for maximum benefits as well as to align all the agencies with best international practice, yesterday held another free Train-the-Trainer Workshop for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps (NSCDC) and Vigilante Group Of Nigeria (VGN) Lagos State Commands.

He opined that to get the best services from men in uniform like the police, military and their likes, the public should give maximum respect to them.

According to GTP news report, Dr. Musa revealed that the purpose of the training was to support the government by giving free professional training to institutions with high level of interpersonal contact with the populace. He also advised the public to respect traffic officials adding that services of the uniform men were for the good of all.

According to him, though traffic had been a big challenge in many cities like Lagos State, but traffic officers have contributed to the growth of Nigerian economy, “by ensuring free flow of traffic for free movement of businesses”. He urged the public to give preferential treatment to security personnel because their jobs were essential services.

The Lagos State Commandant of NSCDS, Mr. Adedotun Keshiro, said that the impact of the training could not be over emphasized, he said it through Mr. Aruwa Kadiri, who represented him.

Keshiro commended the organisers of the training, adding that he would encourage more of such trainings.

The Group Commandant of Vigilante Group of Nigeria, Mr. Tanudeen Opeyemi, also lauded GTP’s giant stride, adding that the training had equipped the officers in many ways.

The Director of GTP Academy, Dr. Segun Awe-Obe encouraged the trained officers to go back and train others so that the purpose of the training will not be defeated.

Recall that Global Transport Policy had organized same professional training for the Nigeria Police Force, Federal Road Safety Corps and Lagos State Transport Management Agency.
