GAMA Marks 4th Edition with Scholarships, Empowerment Funds, and Star-studded Attendance 

In a ceremony that ignited The Civic Centre with advanced Humanitarian impact and innovation, The Global Affairs Magazine Awards GAMA, Celebrated Excellence in Service, Empowered Women, and Supported Out-of-School Children.

The 2025 edition of the GAMA Humanitarian Awards held in grand style yesterday, bringing together an impressive gathering of dignitaries, industry leaders, philanthropists, government representatives, and change-makers committed to driving social impact across Africa.

The event, renowned for recognizing exemplary humanitarian service, honored individuals and organizations whose work has significantly improved lives and strengthened communities. The evening featured inspiring tributes, impactful stories, and a shared commitment to expanding opportunities for vulnerable populations.

A major highlight of the ceremony was the award of scholarships to out-of-school children, reaffirming GAMA’s dedication to ensuring every child has access to quality education regardless of background or circumstance. The beneficiaries received academic support packages designed to reintegrate them into school and sustain their educational journey.

In addition to the scholarships, GAMA also disbursed an Empowerment Fund to women entrepreneurs, enabling them to start, expand, or strengthen their businesses. The initiative aims to promote economic independence among women, especially those in underserved communities, while contributing to broader socio-economic growth.

Speaking at the event, the convener, Regina Robinson emphasized that the 2025 awards represent “a renewed call to action,” urging partners, stakeholders, and well-meaning individuals to continue supporting humanitarian causes and investing in the next generation.

Honorees includes; Pro Vice Chancellor of Adekunle Ajasin University, Dr. Tunji Abayomi, Member, Lagos State House of Assembly, Ikorodu Constituency ll, Hon. (Dr.) Aro Moshood Abiodun, Nigeria based Italian, Capt. Dr. Giorgio Enrico Del Celo, Prof. Ibrahim Olawale Olateju,Dr. Samuel Anyanwu, Radio One, Alpha Pharmacy, Bloom Public Health, Starzs Investments Company Limited, Viewpoint Specialist Eye Centre, LAPO Micro Finance Bank, Hon. Adebayo Afon, Abiodun Olubitan, Mabel Adeteye, Mrs. Wuraola Oloko-Amusan, Mrs. Happiness Obioha, Chief Doris Chioma Denise-Akano.

The Keynote Speaker, former Acting Vice Chancellor of Covenant University and Consultant at ECOWAS Commission, Prof. Jonathan Aremu spoke extensively on Transportation Logistics in Human–Environment Interaction under AfCFTA. 

The General Manager of the Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency, (LASCOPA) Afolabi Solebo Esq. Sensitized attendees of the agency’s commitment in protecting consumer’s rights, ensuring fair trade practices, and promoting responsible consumption within Lagos State. 

The evening concluded with a celebration of excellence, networking among distinguished guests, and renewed pledges to advance humanitarian work across Africa.
