The Audio Visual Rights Society of Nigeria (AVRS) has elected new members into the AVRS Board to continually oversee the copyright and collective management as well as enhancing the execution of its functions.
The Audio Visual Rights Society is a collecting society for rights of those in the audio visual society that works for the Nigerian film industry.
The audio visual right society is linked to other global rights collecting societies in the world. In its general annual meeting Lancelot Oduwa Imasuen was elected to the board. Elections into the board is done once every 3 years and this high-top flying filmmaker made it to the board. The board of directors elected Mr. Mamud Ali- Balogun as its chairman other members include: Prince Jide kosoko Mrs. Monalisa Chinda Coker, Chief Peddie Okao, Alhaji Sanni Muaizu, High Chief Koshoro, Barrister Norbert Ajeagbo. They are to oversee the running of the society for these coming years.
No doubt, Imasuen’s extensive knowledge and experience will provide invaluable insights into the foundations and current regulatory landscape of copyright in the Nigerian film industry.
The Guvnor’s wealth of experience will bring new developments in the copyright and collective management space thereby maintaining the organisation’s growth and effectiveness.
